Introducing Canopy St Albans

Following an extensive refurbishment programme, we opened our doors to our first cohort of babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers on 5th June 2023.

See Our Habitat

Here are some images of our fantastic child-friendly space.  This L shaped, single storey building has windows on both sides, filling the 3 large rooms with light, as well as double doors to the rear, giving each room its own access to the extensive gardens.  The natural environment extends inside the nursery as plants and natural resources abound to maintain the fresh, calm atmosphere of a wooded glade.

“What do you our customers think?”

‘My Son joined in July 2023. The staff have been fantastic. The social and emotional development support has been great! Key-workers ensure frequent pictures and communication via the app, which really does make a difference. Most of all he is happy! And doesn’t want to come home at pick up! So glad our village has a nurturing nursery at our doorstep!’

    Leadership Team

Meet Karishma, Nursery Director of Canopy St Albans

Teaching is my vocation. It’s not just a job. And it’s something I’ve always wanted to do, ever since volunteering in a local Primary School during my own education, and helping my younger cousins with their studies.
Fast Forward 15 years, a BSC in Business and Maths and a PGCE from the Institute of Education, 7 years’ experience teaching EYFS in primary schools, private nurseries and then managing a nursery and here I am.
Turning 30 and ready to start my very own nursery – it really is a dream come true and I’m incredibly excited!

    Canopy Code

Canopy Code is the curriculum we embrace in every Canopy Nursery. Put simply, its the skills and behaviours we want children to learn to make them equipped and ready for their next steps. We want our children to be curious explorers, confident communicators, independent learners and inquisitive thinkers. With these skills firmly embedded, they will be fully equipped and ready for the next step into ‘big school’.

    Canopy Cares

Canopy Cares sits alongside the Canopy Code to purposefully cultivate a culture of sustainability and appreciation for the living world. Quite simply, our ethos is caring for each other and the world we live in. We teach children tolerance, respect, and kindness along with a sense of understanding and responsibility for our beautiful planet.

Children are actively involved in caring for the environment and our nurseries have eco committees to help children think about their impact on the natural world.

    Meet the Team

We are building a dedicated team of highly skilled childcare practitioners who are establishing a culture of excellence and pride in their contribution to our community.
