Through our Canopy Cooks initiative, children are encouraged to explore where food comes from and develop a positive, hands-on relationship with healthy eating. From planting tiny seeds to tasting freshly picked produce, children take part in every stage of the journey – learning to grow, pick, prepare and enjoy their own fruit and vegetables as part of everyday nursery life.
Our outdoor spaces have been thoughtfully designed to include allotment-style planters, creating opportunities for children to observe nature in action and experience the excitement of watching food grow. Whether planting herbs, watering vegetables, or harvesting seasonal produce, children gain a deeper understanding of how food reaches our plates.
Through practical cooking experiences, children are encouraged to explore textures, flavours and healthy choices, while developing important life skills such as independence, confidence and teamwork.

Canopy Code is the curriculum we embrace in every Canopy Nursery. Put simply, it is the skills and behaviours we want children to develop to help them feel confident, capable and ready for their next steps. We want our children to become curious explorers, confident communicators, independent learners and inquisitive thinkers.
A key part of the Canopy Code is our commitment to outdoor learning, recognising the vital role that time spent outdoors plays in children’s development and wellbeing. Through meaningful experiences in our garden and outdoor environments, children are encouraged to explore, take managed risks, solve problems, build resilience and develop a deeper connection with the natural world.

Quite simply, our ethos is caring for each other and the world we live in. We teach children tolerance, respect, and kindness along with a sense of understanding and responsibility for our beautiful planet.
Children are actively involved in caring for the environment and our nurseries have eco committees to help children think about their impact on the natural world.
Funded Childcare – Enhanced Provision
In order to sustain our outstanding provision, we charge an additional services
rate which includes services such as the provision of nutritional and balanced
meals, digital access to your child’s online learning journal with real time updates,
employing specialist external activity providers, and extra time within the session
beyond the funded hours. All additional items will be itemised on your invoice.

Eligible families can access their 15 hours of Government-funded childcare either during the 38 weeks of the school year or stretched across 51 weeks. When stretched, this provides 11 hours and 10 minutes of funded childcare per week.
Families can choose to use their funded entitlement only or combine their funded hours with additional private hours, subject to availability.
We will work with each family to agree an attendance pattern that suits their childcare needs and provide an individual breakdown of any additional charges.
30 Hours Funded Childcare

Eligible families can access their 30 hours of Government-funded childcare either during the 38 weeks of the school year or stretched across 51 weeks. When stretched, this provides 22 hours and 21 minutes of funded childcare per week.
Families can choose to use their funded entitlement only or combine their funded hours with additional private hours, subject to availability. We will work with each family to agree an attendance pattern and provide a clear individual breakdown of their funded hours and any additional charges.
Please note: Meals, snacks and consumables are available as part of our enhanced provision and may be subject to an additional service charge. Families who do not wish to purchase meals and snacks from the nursery may provide a packed lunch and snacks in accordance with our Packed Lunch and Snacks Policy.
